Meet your local hypnobirthing teacher in Greenhithe: Tanya
I’m Tanya, a mum of two from Kent - an 8-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl (yes, there’s a 7-year gap!). Outside of mum life, I love socialising, researching, and travelling.
After a challenging first labour, I was left with a deep fear of birth and truly believed my son would be an only child. Years later, when he began asking for a sibling, I realised I couldn’t move forward without first addressing that fear. I knew I needed something that would help me feel calm, informed, and in control before giving birth again.
Discovering hypnobirthing changed everything. It not only removed my fear of labour, but taught me about autonomy, mindfulness, and the power of the mind - tools that supported me far beyond birth and into everyday life and motherhood. Experiencing such a positive transformation led me to train as a hypnobirthing teacher, so I could help other parents approach pregnancy and birth with confidence, trust, and calm.

How are we different to NCT classes in Kent?
You can absolutely choose to do both NCT and Hypnobirthing.
NCT courses offer broader antenatal education, covering topics such as birth, feeding, newborn care and life with your baby. They can be a lovely way to prepare for parenthood and meet other local parents-to-be.
Hypnobirthing gives you more focused preparation for birth - helping you understand the physiology of labour, work with your body's natural processes, practise breathing and relaxation techniques, and prepare your birth partner to support you confidently.
At Rise & Glow Births, our Hypnobirthing classes are evidence-based and grounded in the latest research around birth, the mind-body connection and the physiology of labour. You'll have plenty of opportunity to practise the techniques together, so you're not simply learning about Hypnobirthing - you're building skills you can actually use during pregnancy, labour and birth.
Already considering NCT in Kent?
You don't have to choose between the two.
Some parents choose Rise & Glow Hypnobirthing instead of an NCT course because they want their antenatal preparation to focus particularly on birth and Hypnobirthing. Others choose to do both, using NCT for broader antenatal and newborn education alongside dedicated Hypnobirthing preparation.
Both can also be a lovely way to meet other local parents-to-be and build a supportive community during pregnancy.
The right choice depends on what you want from your antenatal preparation - and if feeling calm, confident and prepared for birth is your priority, Hypnobirthing could be a wonderful addition.
